Care Assistant

Job Summary

Bradwell Hall are seeking to recruit caring and compassionate individuals to join their team and provide care and support to residents living within their large prestigious nursing home based in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

The successful applicant will be contracted to weekly hours, full time and part time positions available, day or night shifts over a 7 day rota.

(Please note day shifts commence at 08:00am/night shifts commence at 20:00pm)

Pay rates: 6.33 (age 18 - 20) 7.55 (age 21 - 24) 8.00 (age 25 and over)

Enhanced rates of pay for applicants who are NVQ2 or NVQ3 qualified in Health & Social Care

Overview of what the home provides:

  • Care for residents who have an illness or medical condition requiring frequent medical attention supervised day and night by registered nurses
  • Specialist care and support for residents who have been diagnosed with dementia at various stages
  • Care and support to elderly residents within a residential setting
  • End of life care, treatment and support for residents and families

Your role and responsibilities:

The role of a carer is to give direct patient care as directed by a trained nurse and support the resident in his/her plan of care.

Duties will include but not limited to:

  • Assist residents with all aspects of personal care e.g. washing, dressing, toileting etc
  • Assist residents with mobility - may include hoisting
  • Assist residents with eating and drinking, communication and joining in social activities
  • Assist nurses in the preparation of a resident for treatment
  • Complete all documentation as requested by the unit manager/nurse
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment within the nursing home

Experience/Skills:

The successful applicant will be contracted to work 42 hours per week (20:00pm - 08:00am) 4 shifts week one and 3 shifts week two over a 7 day working rota or 48 hours (20:00pm - 08:00am) 4 shifts per week over a 7 day working rota.
